Editorial Policy
Concrete Yardage publishes practical guides on concrete estimation, ordering, and project budgeting. This page explains how our content is produced, fact-checked, and kept current.
Who Writes Our Content
All articles are written and reviewed by Tony Reaves II, founder of Toota Industries, drawing on direct experience managing concrete pours and material logistics for government facilities. Every article carries a byline linking to the author page.
Sourcing Standards
Technical claims are checked against industry-standard references before publication:
- ACI 304R-00 β Guide for Measuring, Mixing, Transporting, and Placing Concrete (waste factors and placement procedures).
- ASTM C94/C94M β Standard Specification for Ready-Mixed Concrete.
- NRMCA β industry pricing surveys and regional ready-mix cost data.
- Portland Cement Association β mix design, compressive strength, and curing references.
- Quikrete and Sakrete β manufacturer-published yield data for bagged concrete.
- RSMeans Construction Cost Data β national material pricing benchmarks.
Pricing Data
Cost figures are national averages intended for planning, not quotes. We refresh pricing annually and note regional ranges where they differ meaningfully. Always confirm final pricing with your local ready-mix supplier before ordering.
Accuracy and Corrections
If you find an error in any article or calculator result, tell us through the contact page. We review correction reports promptly, fix confirmed errors, and update the affected article.
Independence and Advertising
The calculator and all guides are free to use. The site is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers have no input into our content, calculator formulas, or editorial decisions, and we do not accept payment for coverage or recommendations.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not publish sponsored content disguised as guides.
- We do not let advertising relationships influence pricing figures or recommendations.
- We do not present estimates as binding quotes β site-specific conditions always affect final cost.
